Yugoslav Film Archives (official title since 1952) is the national film library of the Republic of Serbia, founded in 1949 as The Central Film Archives of the Yugoslav Film Library. Its status varied during the years; according to the Law on the Protection of the Monuments of Culture it is ranked today as an institution of special importance for the Republic of Serbia. It consists of four organization units: the Film Library of the Yugoslav Film Archives , the Yugoslav Film Archives Museum - the cinema , the Library and General Services.
Yugoslav Film Archives is one of the founders and a permanent member of FIAF (International Federation of Film Archives). It takes part in the activities of FIAF since 1951.
The heart of the institution is the Film Library of the Yugoslav Film Archives. It carries out the basic activity of the institution: collection, permanent preservation and expert treatment of films, film records and supplementary film material: photographs, posters, publicity materials, documentation, models, old items related to film; it enables access of this to researchers, students, public; it cooperates with cognate institutions in the country and abroad; it carries out the exchange of films and supplementary film material. One of the primary tasks of the Library is to complete the computer processing of enormous amount of data stored in its specialized and technical card-files.

 

Museum

Yugoslav Film Archives is opened for all researchers and scientists who deal with the history and theory of film. Through lectures, exhibition and book promotions it takes active part in education and broadening of film culture in our country.

Director : Radoslav Zelenovic,
Director of the Yugoslav Film Archives since 1992. Born in Kosovska Mitrovica on January 20th 1948. Degree of Philological faculty at the Belgrade University. Since 1968 film amateur with the Belgrade Youth Center Film Club. From 1971 until 1979 editor of the Film Programme with the Belgrade Youth Center. From 1979 until 1992 editor of the Film Programme of TV Belgrade. Editor and administrator of numerous film programmes and manifestations, as well as contributor to film magazines. Director of the Pali} Film Festival, for many years member of the FEST Council and selector of FEST and the Sopot Film Festival. Speaks Russian and French.

Head of Archive : Aleksandar Erdeljanovic
Manager of the Film Library of the Yugoslav Film Archives since 2001. Born in Zemun on January 20th 1963. Degree of Political Faculty at the Belgrade University. Author of numerous articles on film published in daily papers and specialized periodicals. Winner of the quiz show "100 Years of Film" in 1995. Speaks English.

Director of museum : Dinko Tucakovic
Manager of the Yugoslav Film Archives Museum since 1990. Born in Zenica on June 7th 1960. Degree of film and TV direction at the Drama Art Faculty at the Belgrade University. Author of numerous film critics, essays and interviews published in domestic and foreign periodicals. Directed feature film "Six Days of June" (Šest dana juna) 1985, and a number of short films and documentaries. Awarded at the Film Festivals in Madrid (1981) and Selba (1986). For many years member of the FEST Council and selector of FEST. Speaks English, Italian and French
